The Legal Cloud Computing Association ("LCCA") has published its responses to proposals issued by the ABA Commission on Ethics 20/20 ("Commission") and the North Carolina State Bar ("NC State Bar") regarding the use of cloud computing within a law practice.

A carta da LCCA à Comissão de Ética da ABA foi emitida em resposta ao Rascunho de propostas iniciais sobre "Tecnologia e Confidencialidade" publicado em 2/5/2011. As Propostas incluem certas modificações nas Regras Modelo de Conduta Profissional da ABA, destinadas a facilitar a adoção responsável de tecnologia que aumentará a qualidade e reduzirá o custo dos serviços jurídicos. As propostas foram emitidas como parte de um processo iniciado no início de 2010, onde a Comissão publicou um documento de questões solicitando comentários e feedback da comunidade jurídica.
A LCCA apoia totalmente as propostas da Comissão e agradece à Comissão por incorporar os comentários da LCCA e de outros sobre o documento de questões.
Resposta à proposta da barra do estado da Carolina do Norte 2011 FEO6
The LCCA's letter to the NC State Bar pertains to Proposed Formal Ethics Opinion ("FEO") 2011FEO6. The Proposed FEO attempts to address the ethical issues relating to the use of Software-as-a-Service or cloud computing within a law firm environment.
Embora a LCCA apoie os esforços da NC State Bar para fornecer clareza sobre o uso de computação em nuvem para seus membros, a Proposta FEO conforme escrita impactaria negativamente um amplo escopo de advogados daqueles que não fazem nada mais do que usar um cliente de e-mail baseado na web ou conduzir pesquisas jurídicas on-line para aqueles que prestam serviços jurídicos on-line em grande escala.
The onerous requirements of the Proposed FEO, detailed in full in the LCCA's response to the NC State Bar, would force many cloud computing providers to withdraw from the NC market entirely, thus negatively impacting the technological capabilities and competitiveness of NC-based law firms.
